Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Post-Master’s Certificate Program graduates obtain the necessary skills and knowledge needed to assess, diagnose and manage patients along the continuum of health. FNP professionals care for patients across the lifespan in a wide array of primary care settings including clinics, offices and other community settings.
University of Cincinnati’s Post-Master’s FNP Online Certificate Program
Graduates of the Post-Master’s Certificate FNP program will have met the criteria for taking both the ANCC (American Nurses Credentialing Center) and AANP (American Academy of Nurse Practitioners) certification exams.
Applicants will need:
- An active and unrestricted United States RN license.
- Master of Science in Nursing degree conferred from a regionally and nursing accredited institution (ACEN or CCNE).
- A year or more of clinical nursing experience.
The FNP Post-Master’s Certificate Program is not eligible for financial aid or financial assistance. However, a payment plan is available through the Bursar’s Office. For more information, please click here.

Licensure
Graduates are eligible to sit for ANCC (American Nurses Credentialing Center) or the AANP (American Academy of Nurse Practitioners) certification exam.
